what’s this you ask?
this is a prison in norway :|
and a prison-island in norway also:

A couple comments from that link:
If we never have prisons like these outside of Norway, I think it will have more to do with the attitudes of people like those who commented than for any logical or practical reasons. Someday perhaps the world will recognize that hate begets hate and trust begets trust. The main reason we want prisoners to suffer is because we are afraid to treat them like humans. We justify the inadequacies of our daily lives by pushing blame onto others. When others fail as we expect them to, it gives us a cynical sense of pleasure to know that man is weak and frail. Expecting the worst of others gives us the convenience of not having to change, but change is what we need most in this world.

So basically instead of de-humanising people any-more than they already are - the Norwegians are engaging with prisoners at a level that will empower them to be that which they never really were before, makes sense to me - just the same way as picking the cultists off the streets and de-programming them does. As for the British State not providing the same levels of care for the elderly etc., take a relative view of the situation and consider how much of society is being wasted as a reserve force of labour and that as a society we don’t value what is right just what is propagated through various corporates, bias media outlets and vested interests. So reader… What do you value the most a sustainable and progressive future or one that your knee-jerk reactions will turn into a rabid hate-filled dog that forever returns to soil and destroy? Your choice, maybe…
